Knowledge Organisers

At Shipley CE, we use knowledge organisers to support our children in gaining, retaining and building the knowledge and skills set out within our curriculum. Currently, knowledge organisers are used in Maths, Science, Explorers (History and Geography), RE, PSHE, PE, Art and Design Technology.

They are introduced to the children at the beginning of a unit and are used to share the key vocabulary and concepts which will be vital for successful learning. Throughout a unit, there are many opportunities for children to use their knowledge organisers links and connections whilst retaining key knowledge. This involves regular quizzes, games and oracy based activities.
